Other Peoples Heartache (Bastille)

Congratulations to Bastille who got to number two in the official UK charts this week and good luck on the number one album "Bad Blood" which has just been released so grab a copy. But whilst being extremely excited about the release of their album I had a search around youtube at some previous work and noticed that they had done a couple of cover tracks. I'd already heard the Radio 1 Live Lounge cover or Bruno Mars' "Locked out of Heaven" which is below, which is one amazing cover with a Rhianna / XX twist in the middle...

.... and I had also heard their cover of Corona's "Rhythm of the Night" used in an advert for ITVs Dancing on Ice....

.... and then I came across this awesome TLC cover

..... then I realised they had done a whole mixtape, in fact two mixtapes called "Other People's Heartache" and "Other Peoples Heartache Pt.2" with numerous covers and mixes.

Here is a mix/cover of Bastille's Pompeii and Calving Harris/ Florence and the Machines "Sweet Nothing"

... they sing with numerous different people including rappers and other female singers.

Here is a cover of Adamski's "Killer":

... each has their own unique sound and the majority have a sweet smoothing feel, something you can just float off to.

Another amazing track is this cover and mashup of Adagio for strings and Haddaways "What is love"

There are loads more including covers of David Guetta's Titanium, Fleetwood Mac and "Dreams" and many more so take a look about and I think there is places where they are available to download also!

Finding all these covers has shown that Bastille are not just an amazing band with some huge songs but have the talent to reinvigorate old classic songs from a variety of genres and make it there own. I think releasing all these with proper publicity then they would sure to get some more top charting songs!
